H2A’s Mike Hawthorne is actively participating on an ASTM International team responsible for authoring new technical guidance outlining methods used to calculate LNAPL Transmissivity. Individual technical subgroups are authoring each of the four primary methods by which to calculate LNAPL Transmissivity (physical properties data, short-term aquifer test based methods, tracer testing, and analysis of recovery data). Mike is leading the recovery data analysis subgroup and is also participating on the other three subgroups. The team will meet at the ASTM national meeting in St. Louis in April to complete the first draft of the guidance document, and hopes to finalize the guidance in 2010.
